Brainless Raspberries by Epic Brewing Company
Like I mentioned in the podcast, this beer takes me back to Belgium. The beer is described as a Belgian Style Ale brewed with raspberries, and it isn't the raspberries that remind me of Belgium. Any homebrewer will tell you that the yeast you use to brew you beer is extremely important when building a flavor profile. The yeast that most Belgian beers use gives off a very distinctive flavor profile which is hard to miss, and whatever strain of yeast Epic Brewing Company stays true to this.
Overall I enjoyed this beer. The only downside to this beer is that it is not very sessionable because the flavor of raspberries gets to you after a while. I am not quite sure how often Epic Brewing Company releases this beer (they describe it on the bottle as a limited release) but if you happen to see this brew at your local liquor store, make sure you give it a shot.
Cabin Fever by New Holland Brewing Company
While reading the ingredient list for this beer, nothing jumps off the page and is pretty typical for a brown ale. However, experience has shown me that the most simple of beers can be even better if enjoyed in the right situation. Which is why I must believe that Cabin Fever is the exact brew that anyone needs to drink to get through the Michigan winters. Greg thoroughly enjoyed this beer so make sure you pick up a six pack if you see one
Tune in to the next podcast to see what we are drinking next, and be sure to check back here afterwards for the next Da Beers post. Have a suggestion for what beer we should feature next? Let us know in the comments below!
Cheers!
