The Boys - Amazon special released July 26th of 2019
Greg's take - The Boys was a welcome break from the typical super-hero shows and movies we've grown accustomed to over the years. There are a couple of reasons this show stands out and kept me interested from the get-go. First, the characters were fantastic. From all of the titular 'Boys' to the ensemble of heroes we get to know over the course of the first season; the character design and acting was phenomenal. Second, the story keeps you hooked after every episode. It was incredibly easy to justify watching the next episode when you really want to know what happens next. I managed to watch all of the first season over the course of one weekend, which was a bit unfortunate especially because now I have to wait until season 2 drops at some unknown time in the future.
