Introducing: Broken Speaker Platform Reviews

Ten years ago, we were extremely limited in what sort of access we had to stream any type of show. Netflix was just starting to become the streaming behemoth that it is today and the success from that would begin a revolution that has resulted in many people cutting their cable cords and exclusively paying for streaming services.

Here at Broken Speaker Podcast, we've realized that all of these different streaming platforms have tried to set themselves apart from the others. Some choose to release their own shows all at once, others stick to the traditional schedule of one new episode a week. Some networks and studios have been pulling their shows from the general streaming platforms so that they can host the shows exclusively on their own platforms, some which haven't even been released yet.

Broken Speaker Platform Reviews is going to focus on how each platform brings joy to it's subscribers in it's own unique way. We are also going to bring you information on how each platform has gotten to where it is today and where it is going to go in the future. There will be analysis on the app version of the platform as well as the TV and Computer versions to determine if there is a lack of development in any of them. Most importantly though, we at Broken Speaker Podcast understand that you're hard earned money is not something you want to throw away so we will be giving our suggestions on the what platforms give you the biggest bang for your buck.

Once we have posted five platform reviews we will introduce a Top 3 ranking system. I wish I could tell you all what that ranking system is going to be like, but I haven't thought that far out. What I can tell you is that there will be multiple categories that all will culminate in an overall ranking and these categories will be adjusted at the platforms come out with new content and new features.

Now some of you out there are probably thinking "hey, I just really like [insert platform here] because they have all of the shows that I like" and that is perfectly fine. However I would bet that most platforms have at least one current or past show that you would enjoy. Broken Speaker Podcast would be doing a disservice to all of our fans if we only stuck to Amazon Prime or HBO or Hulu. The truth is that there is endless great content out there, but if the platform just sucks then the content's value is going to be diminished.

Neither Greg nor I have any monetary investment in any streaming platform, so you can trust that these reviews are going to be brutally honest. We also don't have access to all of the platforms out there so some of the platforms are going to be judged based off the free trials or maybe purchasing a month of service. Whatever the case is, we will let you know how the review was conducted so that all of you know that there is no bias or attempt to manipulate you into buying something. Broken Speaker Podcast holds itself to the highest standards and we want you to know that.

So that is all I have for now, we will be getting the first platform review to you here in the next week. If you have any ideas future Platform Reviews comment below or send a DM on Instagram or Twitter.
